Rupa Huq’s speech in favour of the Forensic Science Regulator and Biometrics Strategy Bill

Inadequate forensics has prevented the prosecution of criminals and failed to secure justice for victims.
This morning, I spoke in favour of Darren Jones’s Private Members Bill at second reading, which makes provision for the appointment of a beefed up forensic science regulator.
The bill is the first step towards fixing a broken system.
