Yesterday I met with the Society of Afghan Residents in West Acton, which featured on ITV London News last night.
I was particularly honoured to welcome 11-year-old Arash to Acton after he and his mother fled from Kabul.
As I told volunteers yesterday, I will continue to press the Government to take in its fair share of refugees, support local authorities to house Afghans, and ensure that all the gains made in human rights in Afghanistan over the past 20 years aren’t needlessly lost.
