I have recently received a number of emails and letters from constituents who are anxious about the prospect of losing Government support once the furlough/self-employment income support schemes end this Autumn.

I have therefore written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, to make clear that the only way to do right by millions of these workers is to extend the furlough/self-employment income support schemes until a Covid-19 vaccine becomes available.

There is both a moral and economic case for the furlough and SEISS schemes to be extended. I only hope that Mr Sunak listens to these concerns and takes action accordingly.
